Carabba's Chicken Bryan

Hey family.  I know you all are busy, but I thought this would be a good way to share our menus for week, and fun new recipes that we have found.  I'll start it because I like blogging and because Nick said it is left to the girls to get this organized so instead of us trying to decide who is going to do it, I'll start it.  If anyone has a better idea, then by all means let me know, but I think blogging is a good way to go.

Our menu for this week is:
Homemade pizza
crandall's enchiladas
swedish meatballs
pancakes (this is a weekly occurance when Nick works night.)
bruschetta (Nick created this and it was mighty tasty.  I think it probably tasted as good as the stuff on Julie and Julia.)
tomato and tortellini soup (thanks Susan)
chef salad

So we are fans of Carrabas here in Texas, and this is the dish that I always get.  I wanted to try and find a recipe that was similar because it is a pretty penny to go out.  I found this.  I haven't tried it yet, but I intend to.

Enjoy.

  2. I'm glad someone started something 'cause I'm retarded and can barely check my own e-mail. Thanks Laurel! I love to eat good food and try new stuff..anything to get the daily food jobs to be more exciting. I just went to the grocery store..how fun :) I actually like to plan and shop for more than a week at a time. Of course, I have to go get milk and fresh things every week, but I like to make a menu for like 8-10 days and get as much as I can at once for those things. the more I'm at the store, the more I spend, so I try to limit the trips. Also, I usually plan on at least one night of leftovers/clean out the fridge about once a week. (A nice mental break too.) We also have a freezer full of meat. Yes, we have all sorts of animals in there :) but we have bought 1/2 a beef and also a pig the past few years and it's so nice to have. A bit of cost up front, but way nice to walk past the meat counter at the store each week. So I really only buy chicken at the store. That's why you'll see I try to use the pork and beef a lot. Anyway, the Hartmann menu:

Pork spare ribs/bkd potatoes or yams
    Haystacks
    Enchaladas (leftover rice and meat)
Warm wraps (stir-fry peppers, onions, etc with grilled chicken. place in wrap, while hot sprinkle lots of shredded motzerella cheese..yummy)
Hamburger hash...Jerry & Broolyn love it
    Cobb Salad/Chef salad
Sausage Bean soup (very yummy for having 16 kinds of beans in it.Jerry request)
    Ham and noodles

    Happy Eating to y'all!

Laurel...is it best to just post comments, or how do I do this the right way ? help!

  3. Katy at the top of the blog in the right hand corner you should be able to sign in, and then you click new post. It's actually pretty easy and you can't really mess it up. I like to just experiment.
